3 Feb: Spring 2026 page updated. We have chosen 148a, in which some parts have been reformatted, and Clt T parts now have Flute cue in Verse 5.

30 Jan: The Spring 2026 page now has all the music, in script running order. Many of these are already in rehearsal, and others were in the last Roll Round With The Year programme.

2 Jan: The cake calendar for 2026 (version 3) is in the Protected Area.

7 Dec: The members’ address list has been updated in the protected area.

2 Sep: Our recordings of verses from the Anacreontic Song were welcomed by Prof. Richard Gaunt. They will be used next year. You can listen to them in the Protected Area. As a courtesy to Richard, please do not send them to anyone else. You can read about Anacreon here.

2 Sep: Thanks to Brenda for this reference to the Jane Austen feature in the Diocesan Newsletter, 30 July 2025.

25 May: Solent Waves for June has a lovely article about our history and coming anniversary. Well done Daphne!

Have you visited the new WGMA web site? www.wgma.org.uk

The link on the left, “Music Index”, opens a PDF which indexes all our music. You can search it using Ctrl-F in Adobe Reader. You can search the PDF by number, title, words, psalm - in fact any text. It is normally updated whenever a new piece or new suffix is created. (A few  things in the index are not in the Protected Area, but you can have them if you ask.)

When printing PDFs, scaling “none” is suggested, as 12mm margins are already provided. Scaling “fit to printer margins” will give extra margins on most printers.

MidiPlay - controlling speed: Open a file in MidiPlay and select the track(s) to play. Click the > icon. A window opens with various playback controls. Sliders affecting speed are “Relative tempo (%)” and “Tempo (crotchets per minute)”. Each has a “Revert” button to return to the initial tempo. If you use both sliders at the same time, you get the % of the Tempo.

Here is a link to a MidiPlayer program which is ideal for playing our MIDI files. You can balance the parts using sliders and you can display the music whilst it plays.
